We investigate how quantum dots interact with light using a range of spectroscopic techniques. Steady-state and ultrafast measurements provide insights into exciton dynamics, optical gain, and emission properties. By extending these studies down to the single-dot level, we can uncover heterogeneity and unique behaviors that are hidden in ensemble measurements, offering a deeper understanding of quantum dot photophysics.
